Police of the Thohoyandou Cluster have launched an extensive manhunt, following a breakout at the Tshamutumbu police holding cells at the weekend.
Cluster spokesperson Lt-Col Mashudu Malelo said two trial-awaiting suspects, Nyaweleni Randima (25) and Lufuno Mudzanani (27), managed to escape after cutting burglar bars with a hacksaw.
Randima is light in complexion with dreadlocks and of medium build. "He was last seen wearing white Adidas running shoes, blue jeans and a T-shirt. Mudzanani is light in complexion, a bit stout with short hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a long-sleeved, grey jersey."
The two are facing kidnapping, robbery and assault charges. Those with information about the fugitives can contact Tshamutumbu SAPS, their nearest police station or W/O Phophi at 082 414 1621.
