Dispute about where to put new KNP gate finally gets settled

The dispute about where the Kruger National Park’s newest gate, the Shangoni gate, will be situated, has been resolved and work can now continue, said the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr Amos Fish Mahlalela. He formed part of the delegation that visited the site near Mtititi village to observe the progress made.

Road traffic signs no place for political posters!

As election time approaches, the familiar poster war has recommenced. Despite previous reports by the newspaper on this issue, some political parties continue to place their election posters on road traffic signs illegally. This behaviour was observed once more in Louis Trichardt, where a political party adorned traffic signs with its election posters, notably at the Stubbs Street/N1 traffic circle.

Residents of Louis Trichardt have been left completely bewildered by the Vhembe District Municipality's latest attempt to collect arrears on water accounts. On Tuesday, consumers received an email from a debt collecting company called Risima Shared Services Legal Department, demanding immediate payment of all outstanding accounts. In principle, one cannot fault them for that, but the tone of the letter has left consumers fuming.

The Soutpansberg bade a sad farewell to one of its true sons with the passing of 78-year-old John Greaves on Monday, after a short battle with cancer. His passing came just more than a week after the death of another stalwart of the Soutpansberg, the 87-year-old Rob Milton.

Questions asked about materials used for fixing AFB road

The Roads Agency Limpopo (RAL) has confirmed that construction work on the first part of the D723 road between the N1 and AFB Makhado will be completed this month. This was in response to questions asked about the scope of the work to be done on the road, as well as rumours that the project had to be halted because of irregularities reggarding the acquisition of base materials needed for the contract.
