Juliemaand was weereens vol verrassings. Die inwoners van Louis Trichardt se harte was weer oop teenoor die inwoners van Laat Lente en Herfsakker.

Hope of Night het ons uitgenooi na ‘n gesellige aand vir die siel en vir die koue. Elkeen wat dit bygewoon het, het ‘n skootkombersie ontvang en sop en brood geniet. Mnr. Desai het ook sy bydrae gebring met sy groente, so ook die groenteman met sy maandelikse aflewering van baie groente.

Op Mandeladag het die seëninge weer geloop. Bergcare het ons bederf met pizzas! Johan Kirsten het aan ‘n ieder en elk ‘n pakkie vis en skyfies kom aflaai. Dankie aan Ocean Basket.

Ridgeway College, under the watchful eye of Ms. Gwasa, brought the pupils of Form Z to spoil the oldies. They sang us the song “We are the World” and then the co-ordinator, Dede, presented to us an envelope with money in it. Everybody in Form Z participated in the collection of funds. What a blessing!

The station commander of the Makhado SAPS, Lt-Col Mabatha, and the top officers also came to visit on Mandela Day. She brought cold drinks and a stack of Kentucky. Before sitting down to eat, every police official did something in the garden. What a wonderful gesture! We all ate together as one family and, we as old citizens, feel much closer to the police than ever.
