Armed robbers strike restaurant

Local police had their hands full as yet another gang of armed robbers swooped down on a local business.

The robbery took place at 20:50 on Saturday at the Steers/Debonairs outlet situated along Burger Street in Louis Trichardt.

According to the spokesperson for the Makhado Police, Const Irene Radzilani, there were two suspects. The first suspect, armed with a pistol, entered the shop and ordered the staff and personnel to lie down on the floor. He was then joined by a second suspect, who came into the store from outside. Together they forced their way into the tills of the store and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash and a number of cell phones.

At the time of our going to press, the police were still searching for the suspects.
