World Book Day on Monday (23 April)

The Makhado Library, together with Guyo Book Service in Louis Trichardt, will be holding an exhibition and conduct a programme to celebrate World Book Day on Monday (23 April).

The event starts at 14:00 and should end by16:00. It aims to celebrate books by cultivating a culture of reading.

The organisers have invited a number of people who are actively involved in the book industry. A renowned publisher and award-winning author and bookseller, Rudzani Tshianane, will be there as well as poet and lecturer Vonani Bila. Leigh-Ann Lendon from Protea Boekhuis has also indicated that she will be available to assist potential authors.

A group from Timbila Reading Club will also grace the event. The event is open to the general public and the organisers encourage pupils and students and language teachers to attend.

Tracy Ngobeni

Tracy Ngobeni is a 20-year-old intern who is doing her final year in journalism at Tsh­wane University of Technology. She was born and bred in Olifantshoek. She started her journalism career in 2017, after submitting her articles to the Record Noweto Newspaper in Pretoria.
