Gerhardus the fastest young bowler in SA

The 15-year-old Gerhardus Fourie from Louis Trichardt is the country’s fastest bowler at school level. During the recent Audi Q5 Fast Track competition, his bowling speed was measured at an astonishing 135.4 km/h. His unique talent also caught the eye of, among others, the Proteas’ head coach, Ottis Gibson, who expressed the hope that players such as Gerhardus would continue South Africa’s legacy of producing the world’s best fast bowlers.

Time running out to enter Limpopo LAN champs

Serious computer gaming enthusiasts should note that entries for the Limpopo Provincial LAN Championships close on 22 October at 20:00. The championships take place on 28 and 29 October at HTS Tom Naudé in Polokwane. This tournament will also serve as a qualifier for the Mind Sport SA (MSSA)’s national team trials to be held in 2018.

Hoërskool Louis Trichardt se bergfietsspan het die afgelope naweek, tydens die finaal van die landswye skole Spur XCO-liga, gewys dat hulle kan kers vashou met van die top skole in die land. Dit was Triegies se meisiesspan wat beïndruk het deur ‘n algehele nasionale vierde plek te behaal in die skoleliga.
