At the end of October, the Louis Trichardt Rugby Club rewarded their players for outstanding achievements the past year during their annual year-end function.

Not only did the club reflect on the year’s rugby, award their top players and thank their sponsors, but they also started planning for the year ahead.

The club’s most coveted trophy that of Player of the Year, was awarded to Ruan Muller. He was also the player who scored the most points during the year.

Other top achievers were AC Geldenhuys (best backline player), Fanu Booyens (most improved player and Players’ Player of the Year) and Ruan Scheepers (best forward player).

Afterwards the club also welcomed their new management for 2017. Next year, Danie Pita will take up the training whistle as head coach. He will be supported by Pieter Viljoen, the new team manager, Michael Greyling as the vice chairman and Kevin Gilbert as chairman of the club.

Following their function, the club had a special word of thanks for the loyalty and support from their sponsors throughout 2016. They were Soutpansberg Auto Panel Beaters, Premjee and Son, Soutpansberg Spar and VhaVenda Bricks.
