Very little or no teaching took place at Soutpansberg Primary School on Monday, 29 April. The school is facing problems with the supply of electricity and water, and children were told to go home instead.

The Crestcare Zoutpansberg Private Hospital in Louis Trichardt has come under new management with the appointment of Mr Kobus Nel as acting hospital manager. He took over last week from Ms Anneke Stroebel, who has been part of the hospital’s history for almost two decades now.

Family and friends paid their final respects to 14-year-old Daniëlle Mitchell from Levubu on Saturday, 27 April. This young Grade 8 student from Merensky Agricultural Academy passed away after an accident on the notorious R524 (Levubu Road) on 14 April. The accident once again highlighted the poor state of the road and the snail's pace at which the South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL), as the responsible road authority, is apparently addressing the deadly road conditions.

A Back a Buddy page has been started for 50-year-old Helen Berry from Louis Trichardt to help support her in her battle with cancer that began in November last year.
