WATCH: Cyclists help spread some Christmas joy

Jingle Bell Ride 2020.

It was again time for local cyclists to unbox the Christmas lights and decorate their bicycles as part of the annual Jingle Bell Toy Ride in Louis Trichardt that took part on Friday, 4 December.

Cyclists again set off from Makhado Crossing. The entry fee for the event was any toy that will be distributed to less fortunate children. The Soutpansberg Cycling Club, who organised the event, thanked al participants who will help spread some Christmas joy. The Zoutpansberger was also there and made a short video of the event.

 
 

 

Andries van Zyl

Andries joined the Zoutpansberger and Limpopo Mirror in April 1993 as a darkroom assistant. Within a couple of months he moved over to the production side of the newspaper and eventually doubled as a reporter. In 1995 he left the newspaper group and travelled overseas for a couple of months. In 1996, Andries rejoined the Zoutpansberger as a reporter. In August 2002, he was appointed as News Editor of the Zoutpansberger, a position he holds until today.
